Wednesday's Champions League round-up

by Setanta.com staff , 20 October 2010

In Champions League Group A, a Gareth Bale hat-trick was not enough to prevent Tottenham from losing 4-3 to Inter Milan, for whom Javier Zanetti, Samuel Eto'o (2) and Dejan Stankovic all scored inside 35 minutes.

In the other game in the group, FC Twente were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Werder Bremen.

In Group B, Jeremy Briand and Lisandro Lopez were on the scoresheet for Lyon as they beat Benfica 2-0, while Real Madrid legend Raul bagged two for his club, Schalke, in a 3-1 win over Hapoel Tel Aviv.

In Group C, Nani gave Manchester United a 1-0 win over Bursaspor, while Maurice Edu scored at both ends in Rangers' 1-1 draw with Valencia at Ibrox.

Finally, Lionel Messi scored twice - including an exquisite opener - in Barcelona's 2-0 win over FC Copenhagen, while Panathinaikos and Rubin Kazan played out a scoreless draw.
