Michael Clarke hit 93 in a 114 partnership with Mike Hussey as Australia beat Kenya by 60 runs to take a World Cup quarter-final place.
Brad Haddin chipped in with a creditable 65, before Clarke stepped in to finish just seven runs short of a century while alongside the fit-again Hussey, who managed a 54, as the tournament holders finished on 324-6 in their Group A clash in Bangalore.
Kenya lost three early wickets to set the Australians on the road to victory, but Tanmay Mishra then made an impressive 72 and Collins Obuya ran out of deliveries as he finished two runs short of a famous century at the end of the Africans' 50 overs.
Kenya's improved performance saw them make 264-6, but Australia's captain Ricky Ponting was not happy that his side could only take four wickets with the ball against arguably the weakest team in the tournament.
The Aussies are into the quarter-finals, but Ponting hopes they will rediscover their match sharpness against Canada on Wednesday as they had not played for 16 days going into the Kenya clash, after the recent Sri Lanka match ended prematurely due to rain.
"There was a bit of rust even with batting and the fielding," said Ponting.
"But full credit to Kenya, they fought really well. We tried a few different things today and hopefully we've shaken off the rust ahead of the Canada game."
