Neymar brace sinks Scotland

by Tony Cuddihy , 27 March 2011

Two strikes from Neymar gave Brazil a 2-0 win over Scotland in a friendly at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The 19-year-old striker put the Samba stars, who featured Premier League midfielders Lucas and Ramires in their starting eleven, ahead just before half-time.

The reported Chelsea target held off the Scottish defence after taking a pass from Andre Santos, before driving his effort past Allen McGregor.

Scotland offered no real threat in attack and Brazil dominated the second half.

The got the second goal they deserved when Neymar was fouled by Charlie Adam in the Scottish box.

Any contact appeared to be minimal but the referee immediately signalled a penalty, which the teenager took himself, confidently stroking the ball past Allen McGregor.
