Sligo Rovers are through to face Shamrock Rovers in the Setanta Sports Cup semi-final after comfortably beating Portadown.
Holding a 3-0 lead going into the second leg, Rovers sealed an impressive 5-0 win on aggregate thanks to goals from Daryl Horgan and Joseph Ndo on Monday night.
Rovers were never really pressed as Portadown manager Ronnie McFall opted to rest a large number of his first-choice 11 ahead of Saturday's Irish Cup semi-final against Crusaders.
Both sides had chances to take the lead early in the first half but it was not until the 40th minute that the night's first goal arrived courtesy of Horgan.
He got on the end of a smart pass from Andrews and his low shot left goalkeeper David Miskelly scrambling, but his efforts were wasted as the ball sailed into the back of the net.
Portadown struggled to create any genuine opportunities after the break, allowing Rovers to control the game and they were rewarded in the 76th minut when Ndo's curling shot form the edge of the area got the better of Miskelly.
The Airtricity League side pressed for a third but they were unable to convert any more chances and they were forced to settle for a 2-0 win on the night.
Next up for Rovers is a clash with Shamrock Rovers in the last four of the competition.
