Dundalk are through to the final of the Setanta Sports Cup following their 5-2 aggregate win over Cliftonville.
The Airtricity League of Ireland side were heavy favourites to progress to the decider following their 3-1 first leg win but they were given something to think about when Cliftonville took the lead at Oriel Park.
However, Jason Byrne and Johnny Breen hit back for the hosts to ensure Dundalk's first cup final appearance since the FAI Cup in 2002.
Dundalk started the brighter of the two with the home side creating two clear chances through Mark Quigley and Byrne inside the first ten minutes but neither were able to convert their efforts into goals.
It was then Cliftonville's turn to go close to opening the scoring when Conal Burns sent a low drive at goal, only for Peter Cherrie to get his fingertips to it.
Both sides had chances as the half wore on but neither managed to find the back of the net and they went in 0-0 at the break.
Dundalk flew out of the traps at the restart with Michael Hector almost heading his side in front after a minute, but as the hour mark approached the tie came to lift when Cliftonville opened the scoring. Kieran O'Connor was on hand to meet Liam Fleming's cross and he headed past Cherrie to give the Northern side a glimmer of hope.
That lasted just seven minutes, however, as Byrne pounced on Ross Gaynor's delivery to head home and increase Dundalk's aggregate lead.
Byrne was involved in Dundalk's second of the night as he provided the pass that saw Breen beat Jack Duffin to wrap up the tie.
The reward for Dundalk is a final against either Shamrock Rovers or Sligo Rovers.
