Watford's new manager Sean Dyche is hoping to make his second summer signing this week.
Dyche replaced Malky Mackay as boss last week, by which time Craig Forsyth had completed his move from Dundee, and is keen to for several current players to pen new deals as well as further strengthening his squad.
Head of football business Ross Wilson said: "We're making progress on a number of fronts. We're working hard. We're in talks with a number of current players about extensions to their contracts.
"We should be able to make a couple of announcements this week regarding some current players and we are also looking to add some others as well.
"It's unbelievable at the moment. We went through a process of speaking to a million and one agents when Malky Mackay was manager here.
"Now the manager has changed we're speaking to the same million and one agents again about the exact same things."
