Quartet in for Tyrone

by JP Lonergan , 21 July 2011

Tyrone senior football boss Mickey Harte has made four changes to his side for Saturday’s third round SFC qualifier against great rivals Armagh at Healy Park.

The O’Neill County have had two weeks off since their five-point win over Longford, due to Saturday’s opponents needing a replay to get past Wicklow.
The Tyrone team that overcame their half-time deficit to Longford in the last round featured Aidan Cassidy in midfield, but he has now lost his place in the middle of the park to Kevin Hughes.

The right side of Harte’s defence sees two changes with Martin Swift in for Dermot Carlin at corner back, while Sean O'Neill replaces Justin McMahon further forward.

Tommy McGuigan is the fourth man to come into the team. He plays in the full forward line at the expense of Martin Penrose.

Owen Mulligan, recently the supposed perpetrator of a walkout from the panel, and veteran Brian Dooher are named on the bench by Harte, but another old-stager, Stephen O’Neill, has aggravated the hamstring problem that saw him miss the Longford game and is once again unavailable.

Tyrone (SFC v Armagh): P McConnell; M Swift, Joe McMahon, R McMenamin; Sean O'Neill, C Gormley, P Jordan; K Hughes, S Cavanagh; C Cavanagh, B McGuigan, P Harte; T McGuigan, M Donnelly, K Coney.
