Pep Guardiola has said that Cesc Fabregas is not yet a Barcelona player, but the Catalan club's manager is confident that the midfielder's move from Arsenal will be completed soon.
Guardiola explained that there is a single outstanding 'document' preventing him from confirming that Fabregas has become a member of the Barcelona playing staff.
"He's not here yet," said the Barcelona coach.
"According to the information we have from club bosses negotiations are very advanced but there is still a document missing to confirm.
"The prospects are good, but he's still an Arsenal player. Otherwise I would confirm it."
It was believed that a deal would be completed over the weekend, but it now appears that Barcelona fans will have to wait to officially welcome Fabregas to the Camp Nou.
Fabregas was expected to be present for the first leg of Barcelona's Spanish Super Cup clash against rivals Real Madrid on Sunday, but Guardiola is thought to have asked the Spanish international to hold off on his departure from the Gunners, who have just gotten their 2011-12 Premier League campaign underway.
