Owen Coyle claims that 'there has not been one firm offer' made to Bolton for Gary Cahill, but he will be the first to know if any do come.
The Trotters chief has been frustrated at recent reports about his influential central defender which continue to link him with a move to the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool.
After watching Cahill score a stunning goal in Bolton's 4-0 opening Premier League win at QPR on Saturday, Coyle was adamant that, while there has been some interest in the player, no rival club has put in a bid.
But, despite his desire to keep Cahill at the Reebok Stadium, the Scot insisted that he would inform him if any club does come in for him before the transfer window slams shut at the end of the month.
"If anything concrete happens, Gary will be the first to know," said Coyle.
"Some of the stuff I read daily is embarrassing and has no foundation.
"I am so transparent and up front - five or six weeks ago there were a couple of notes of interest with Gary, but there has not been one firm offer.
"I am very relaxed about it, Gary knows that and that is why you go out and see the performance you did (on Saturday)."
