Arsenal have made an enquiry to Shakhtar Donetsk regarding playmaker Jadson, according to the Ukrainian giants' head coach.
The Gunners are effectively resigned to losing creative midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri before the transfer window closes, and Arsene Wenger is widely tipped to be on the lookout for at least one replacement.
The Frenchman recently said that his club had not been in contact Shakhtar over Jadson, but the player’s head coach, Mircea Lucescu, has now revealed that Arsenal have indeed made an approach for the Brazilian international playmaker.
"I can confirm Jadson is wanted by Arsenal," said Lucescu. "Now it all depends on him."
Jadson, 27, has made just four appearances for Brazil, but was utilised recently during his country's disappointing performance at the 2011 Copa America in Argentina.
