Jol on lookout for striker

Fulham boss Martin Jol has confirmed he wants to bring a new striker to the club before the transfer window closes.

The Dutchman has made five signings since arriving at Craven Cottage at the end of June but has yet to sign a forward.

And with just Bobby Zamora and Andrew Johnson, who started against Aston Villa at the weekend, plus Moussa Dembele, the only recognised strikers at the club, Jol knows it's an area that needs to be addressed.

"I'd like to add a few things going forward," he said.

"We saw on Saturday [that] if we swap our No 9 I have to put Clint Dempsey [in] there and I don't want to do that.

"That's why we will try to do something in the transfer window. Does that mean a striker is my priority? Maybe.

"We are not going to be able to compete financially with some of the other teams but the spirit here is great."
