Nigel Reo-Coker expects Bolton to build on their fine start to the season as their new players settle in at the Reebok.
Reo-Coker, signed on a free transfer from Aston Villa, made his Trotters debut in Saturday's emphatic 4-0 opening-day Barclays Premier League win at QPR.
Chris Eagles and Darren Pratley also featured competitively for the first time, and Reo-Coker feels manager Owen Coyle has done a good job reshaping the side.
The 27-year-old said: "It just goes down to the manager. He has made the solid foundations for the club and he has take the credit for that.
"There's no complicated science behind - he just tells you to work hard for the team and just go out and play.
"Of course it will take some time for this team to fully gel because of the new players but the more we train and the more we play games the better understanding we will have.
"Reo-Coker, who was on the fringes of the England squad prior to the 2006 World Cup, starting pre-season training late following his release by Villa.
He added: "I did my own pre-season but it's difficult when you're not in a football environment.
"But I stayed fit and professional. I feel good and hopefully after a couple of games I'll be fully where I should be."
