Everton striker Jermaine Beckford is a £3m target for Championship big-spenders Leicester City, according to reports.
Foxes manager Sven Goran Eriksson is eager to sign a proven goalscorer before the transfer window shuts in a fortnight's time and is apparently targeting Beckford after missing out on Tottenham striker Robbie Keane, who completed a £3.5m move to LA Galaxy on Monday.
Beckford scored ten goals for Everton last season in his first year in the Premier League but whether boss David Moyes would be willing to let him leave is unclear, especially as he has failed to strengthen his squad so far this summer.
Eriksson told the Express: "The target has always been to find a striker who can score us 20 goals in a season.
"
It will be difficult because it is not always about money.
The problem we have is that we are playing in the Championship."
