Everton have been linked with a loan move for out-of-favour Manchester City defender Nedum Onuoha.
The 24-year-old is free to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer after spending last season on loan at Sunderland.
Onuoha would prefer to remain in the north-west and reports suggest the cash-strapped Toffees are keen on taking him to Goodison Park on a temporary basis.
However, with Arsenal set to make a renewed bid for Phil Jagielka, Everton boss David Moyes could use the cash from any deal to buy Onuoha on a permanent basis.
Bolton and Blackburn are also rumoured to be interested in the versatile defender, who can play right across the back four, but any deals would rest on the departures of Gary Cahill and Chris Samba respectively.
