Dalglish lines up move for Cahill

by Setanta Staff , 18 August 2011 Dalglish lines up move for England defender

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is reportedly eyeing a player-plus-cash deal to sign Bolton defender Gary Cahill.

Dalglish has spent more than £100m in the transfer market since returning to Anfield as manager but is apparently keen to continue his spending spree, with speculation suggesting he is close to finalising a £10m move for Cahill with Reds striker David Ngog and teenage striker Raheem Stirling moving in the opposite direction.

Cahill is one of the most sought-after centre backs in the Premier League and Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with moves for the England international over the summer.

Dalglish has also made enquiries about Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross but was told that the £14m-rated centre back is not for sale by Potters boss Tony Pulis.
