Nasri deal imminent - reports

Manchester City are on the verge of signing Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri, according to reports.

The 24-year-old France international has been linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium for most of the summer and , while Gunners chief Arsene Wenger has admitted that he is very keen to keep him at the Emirates Stadium, it looks like he will be on his way to City in the near future.

The fact that Nasri is out of contract next summer and he is unlikely to agree to sign a new one means Wenger will reluctantly cash in on the player now as opposed to losing him on a Bosman free transfer at the end of the season.

And that will pave the way for Nasri, who was singled out for abuse from the Arsenal fans during last Saturday's 0-0 draw at Newcastle despite him being absent due to illness, to finally make the move to City.

It will be a major blow to Arsenal, having lost Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona earlier this week, while Nasri will be reunited with Gael Clichy at the Etihad Stadium following his move earlier in the summer.
