Alex up for Juve switch

Chelsea defender Alex has reportedly said he would be willing to move to Juventus if the deal is made permanent.

The defender spent the first three years of his Chelsea career on loan at Dutch side PSV Eindhoven but managed to break into the Chelsea first-team as soon as he made the switch to Stamford Bridge.

However, following the purchase of compatriot David Luiz in January, the Brazilian has been frozen out as Luiz has taken the first-choice spot and he has admitted that he is willing to seek pastures new, with Serie A the most likely destination for him.

The 29-year-old did make it clear though that, despite a loan deal being a possibility, he would want a permanent deal to be sorted.

"I am aware of Juventus' interest, but I think they want to sign me on loan and this would not be a real alternative for me or Chelsea. "

"My agent has been contacted by Juventus, I am 29 years old and it would be a great opportunity. I would love to play in Italy and I hope I can realise this dream before I retire.

"When I talked to my agent, I told him that Juve would be a real opportunity for me. Now, though, it all depends on Juve, who must come to an agreement with Chelsea. It is unlikely the club will accept a loan move."
