Forlan eyeing Atletico exit

by Setanta Staff , 21 August 2011

Diego Forlan's father has admitted that the striker is looking to leave Atletico Madrid before the end of the transfer window this summer.

The Uruguay international has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital for a number of months, with Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur being strongly linked with the 32-year-old.

However, reports have suggested that Italian giants Inter Milan are the front-runners to sign the forward, who now looks set to leave the Vicente Calderon.

Pablo Forlan is the agent of the former Manchester United striker and believes that his son is unsettled at Atletico.

He told Radio station AM Libre: "Diego is unhappy at Atletico Madrid, for whom he has given everything and has been professional, although he has not been treated the same way.

"I hope Diego joins Inter and his agent is negotiating in Milan and Diego is anxious for things to be resolved."
