Coyle rues mistakes

Bolton boss Owen Coyle was left to rue defensive mistakes by his side after they fell short in an eventful 3-2 loss to Manchester City.

Goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen's was culpable when he allowed David Silva's opener to bounce past him and the Finn's fingertips could not keep Gareth Barry's superb 25-yard drive out of the top corner.

Edin Dzeko then outmuscled Zat Knight to retrieve James Milner's speculative lob forward and fire home, meaning goals from Trotters strike duo Ivan Klasnic and Kevin Davies were ultimately in vain.

"You have to give credit where credit's due and the way they can pass and move the ball we're all aware of because of the quality they have," Coyle said.

"But my disappointment is we probably gifted them one or two of the goals.

"And if top clubs are going to beat you then let them go and earn it."
