Alex McLeish has admitted that he could allow midfielder Jean Makoun to leave Aston Villa before the transfer window closes.
The Villa chief spoke out about the future of the 28-year-old Cameroon international, who joined Villa last January when former boss Gerard Houllier snapped him up from French side Lyon.
However, after Makoun was an unused substitute in Villa's opening two Premier League games, it appears that he is not in the long-term plans of McLeish at Villa Park.
Therefore, with just over a week of the transfer window remaining, the Scot hinted that the player could be offloaded as Greek side Olympiakos have been credited with an interest.
"It's possible [Makoun could leave] but we wouldn't let anybody go unless somebody came in," McLeish revealed.
