Bolton Wanderers are reportedly closing in on a loan deal for Manchester City defender Dedryck Boyata.
Boyata took no part in City's 3-2 win over Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium on Sunday and speculation is rife that he is about to seal a season-long switch to their North-West rivals.
The centre-back had been linked with a move to the Trotters earlier this summer but his father Bienvenu dismissed the idea at the time in a Belgian newspaper.
He told Het Laatste in June: "If Dedryck will get the promise from coach (Roberto) Mancini that he will get sufficient playing opportunities he will stay for sure.
"There could be a deal made with Gary Cahill from Bolton, but Dedryck doesn't want to go to that club.
"Everton are showing interest in him as well, and they are very much an option for him."
It would appear however, the player has had a change of heart and he could be joined at Bolton by City team-mate Shaun Wright-Phillips, who is also destined to make a decision about his future by the end of the week.
