Paul Jewell remains keen to bolster his Ipswich squad with loan signings after revealing he missed out on Liverpool midfielder Jonjo Shelvey last week.
The Town boss on Friday wrapped up a three-month deal for Manchester City right-back Reece Wabara, becoming the fifth loanee at Portman Road, but he also lost out to Blackpool in the race for Shelvey.
Yet the setback has not ended Jewell's desire to boost his ranks, despite taking 10 points from the club's last four games.
"We tried to get the boy Shelvey here last Friday but we couldn't guarantee him a start and Blackpool could," Jewell told the Green'Un.
"We're looking for all types of players. You can only have five loan players in your matchday squad so we can't bring loads in, but we're always looking to improve the squad.
"Sometimes when you get a couple of wins on the bounce you can almost sit back and think you've cracked it. We haven't cracked it and I don't want the players to think that.
"I want them to want to improve and stay in the team."
