Brogan in the mix for league final
Alan Brogan is in contention for a place in the Dublin squad for the Allianz Football League final, manager Jim Gavin has confirmed.
Brogan made his return for Dublin in Sunday’s challenge with Galway in Skerries, scoring four points as Gavin’s men came from five down to claim a draw.
Dublin face Cork in the Division 1 final at Croke Park on Sunday and Gavin has confirmed that Brogan is firmly in the mix to feature against the Rebels.
“All players are, all panel players are in the mix now,” Gavin is quoted as saying in the Irish Star. “We’ll see how guys feel after that session and with a good week of training. We’ll reassess it then.”
Brogan spent the winter considering his inter-county retirement but earlier this month confirmed to Gavin of his desire to play on for at least another year.
“It’s good to have him back. He scored four nice points from play. He adds a lot, not just on the field of play but off it too. He’s a big leader so it’s great to have him back,” Gavin stated.
“I’ve watched him playing a few times this year with his club and obviously he’s been doing a bit of work with us too. So that’s the form I expected, what he displayed out there is how he has been playing.”
