Retired Kildare footballer Anthony Rainbow is set for a selector’s role with Leinster rivals Carlow.
Lilywhites legend Rainbow, who was part of his native county’s panel for two decades, is expected to be ratified as part of Luke Dempsey’s backroom team on Wednesday evening.
Rainbow had previously been linked with taking up a role as a selector for the U21 panel in Kildare.
He was reported as being in a team which would be led by Damien Hendy, but Hendy has now ruled himself out of replacing Alan Barry in the underage Lilywhite hotseat.
And Kildare’s loss cis set to be Carlow’s gain, with the Barrowsiders hoping to make further progress after beating Louth this summer in what was their first championship win for five years.
