Ross Carr has blasted the current Down management team for the exclusion of his son Aidan from the inter-county senior football team.
The senior Carr was at the helm of the Mourne County from 2006-2009, in which time Aidan was a regular in the county set-up.
However, the defender has barely been in the pecking order at all under his father’s successor James McCartan, who – in fairness – led the side to last year’s All-Ireland final in his first year in charge.
That is not justification enough for the paternal Carr though, who has etched of Aidan in the already infamous new book 'This Is Our Year': "He's one of the best in Down. It feels like an incredible injustice. It's totally unexplainable."
