Warburton named skipper for Test

by Setanta Staff , 20 November 2011

Sam Warburton has been retained as Wales captain for next month's Test against Australia in Cardiff.

Warburton captained the Welsh at the World Cup, but was sent-off in the narrow defeat to France in the semi-finals. He will return as skipper for the one-off clash against the Wallabies on December 3 at the Millennium Stadium.

Scarlets fly-half Stephen Jones has been left out of the selection, with Ospreys number 10 Dan Biggar included in the 28-man squad, which does not feature any oversees-based players.

Ospreys second-row Alun-Wyn Jones will not be involved, as he faces surgery on a foot problem, while three uncapped players have been called up. They are Scarlets full-back Liam Williams, wing Alex Cuthbert of Cardiff Blues and Newport Gwent Dragons flanker Lewis Evans.
