Former Tyrone great Peter Canavan has been confirmed as the new boss of the Fermanagh footballers.
The former Errigan Ciaran manager was strongly rumoured to be in line for the post in the last week but the news was finally confirmed late on Monday night.
The two-time All-Ireland winner faces a tough task in his first inter-county job as Fermanagh suffered one of the worst seasons in recent history, bowing out of the Championship to London.
John O’Neill’s term was also hit with a number of high-profile defections so the Tyrone legend first task is to get some cohesiveness back into Fermanagh before they embark on the McKenna Cup campaign in January.
