Wallabies walk past Baa Baas

by Setanta Staff , 26 November 2011

Australia managed to run in eight tries against the Barbarians in an impressive 60-11 victory by the Tri Nations champions on Saturday.

The Wallabies were frustrated by the invitational side in the first half at Twickenham, as a number of key passes went to ground to deny try-scoring chances.

It was only a 18-3 scoreline at the break to the southern hemisphere outfit but the game came to life in the second half as the organised Australians ran in some superb tries.

Digby Ioane, Lachie Turner and James Horwill all crossed the whitewash twice, with Rob Horne and Radike Samo also getting tries. James O'Connor playing his first game at fly-half and scoring 20 points in the one-off game.

Rugby League star Sam Tomkins did manage to get on the scoresheet as he scored a consolation try but it was the Wallabies who secured a comfortable 60-11 victory in an entertaining game at the Home of Rugby.
