Rossies chairman confident on capacity

by JP Lonergan , 16 December 2011

Dr Hyde Park in Roscommon will return to its maximum capacity, according to county chairman Brian Stenson.

The Connacht county, like many others nationwide, saw their home ground's capacity reduced due to the recommendations of the Slattery Report.

It needs some development work, however Stenson says that the alterations will not be major and he is fully confident that the 30,000 capacity will stay in place for the championship in the summer.

Writing in his report for next week's convention, the chairman said "We should not despair because with some simple solutions the capacity can be increased considerably and be brought back up to the 30,000 figure.

"I am confident that with the correct approach under the guidance of Eamon Collins, Dr Hyde Park will host the 2012 senior championship game against Galway."
