Pearson ponders options

Manager Nigel Pearson has options should he wish to make changes for the visit of Portsmouth.

The Foxes are looking to get their play-off challenge back on track after a 1-1 home draw against Ipswich extended their winless run in the npower Championship to four matches.

Wales international Andy King will among those players in line for a recall after the midfielder was omitted from the starting XI in favour of Yuki Abe on Boxing Day.

The only other change against Ipswich saw skipper Matt Mills replace Sean St Ledger at the heart of the defence alongside Sol Bamba.

Pearson is unlikely to tinker with his back four, meaning the best St Ledger can probably hope for is a place on the bench after the Republic of Ireland international failed to make the matchday squad following Mills' return from suspension.

Gelson Fernandes will also hope to be involved after missing out against the Tractor Boys while fellow midfielder Neil Danns and strikers Steve Howard and Jeffrey Schlupp are also options for Pearson.
