Plymouth boss Carl Fletcher took heart from seeing teenage midfielder Luke Young score his first senior goal in the 2-1 defeat to local rivals Torquay.

Skipper Lee Mansell and on-loan Swindon winger Billy Bodin scored for Torquay, with Young replying for Argyle in the 72nd minute.

Young was denied a second goal in the 82nd minute by a superb block from Chris Robertson and Fletcher said: "I was pleased that Luke Young got his first senior goal. "

He has been knocking at the door for a little while and you not what you are going to get with him because he has got good qualities.

"I think Simon Walton set it up with a header and another midfielder ended up putting it away and then Youngy had another chance deflected when it looked as though it was heading into the top corner. "

I was just disappointed we lost because there was such a great crowd here, which was really pleasing to see."
