Kerry native Graham O'Connell has switched counties and linked up with the Limerick senior football panel.
O’Connell has completed a transfer from the Kingdom’s Austin Stacks to Monaleen of Limerick and could now make a competitive debut for Maurice Horan’s (pictured) side when they face UCC in the McGrath Cup on Sunday week.
“We'll have a look at him in the McGrath Cup and challenge matches and see how he gets on. I'm looking forward to seeing how he gets on,” Horan was quoted as saying by the Irish Independent.
Horan also confirmed that Stephen Lucey has committed to the county football panel, rather than the hurling one, adding: "He's a big addition with the amount of experience he possesses.
"He keeps himself in fantastic shape and has a huge desire to play inter-county."
Sadly for Horan, Lucey’s fellow dual players James Ryan and Mark O'Riordan have committed to the hurling squad for 2012, but star midfielder John Galvin could feature before the end of the Treaty County’s Allianz League campaign after an extended spell on the sidelines with cruciate knee ligament damage.
