Munster roles for Sheedy, O'Sullivan

by JP Lonergan , 07 January 2012

Tipperary’s All-Ireland winning manager Liam Sheedy is to manage the Munster hurlers in the revamped Donnelly Interprovincial semi-finals next month.

Cork selector Ger O’Sullivan, meanwhile, will take charge of the southern province’s footballers.

Ex-Premier County boss Sheedy, who led Tipp to Liam McCarthy success in 2010 and thereby guided the men who ended Kilkenny’s ‘drive for five’ will be aided by selectors Stephen Frampton (Waterford) and James O’Connor (Clare), while also bringing his trusted Tipp coach Eamon O’Shea into the fray.

The Munster hurlers face Leinster (Kilkenny men and all) for a place in the decider, at Nowlan Park on February 19.

Limerick manager Maurice Horan and John Kennedy of Kerry will aid O’Sullivan when his men take on Leinster at Dublin’s Parnell Park on the same date.
