Bennett issues message to boss

Elliott Bennett has told Norwich boss Paul Lambert that he would happily play in any position as long as he is in the starting XI.

The 23-year-old has proved to be one of the Canaries' versatile players this season,  having operated in a midfield diamond formation in the past two matches - while he also had a spell in a left-back role in the recent 2-1 win at QPR.

However, Bennett insists he does not mind where Lambert asks him to play as long as he is in the team and helping Norwich secure more points for survival.

He told the Pink 'un: "I just want to play in the team and if I can help the team at left-back, right-back, any position on the pitch, I'm more than willing to do it.

"I played that position behind the strikers for Brighton quite a number of times last season. I enjoy playing there.

"I just enjoy playing any time, to be honest.

"I've been in and out and I managed to play 90 minutes the other day which was good, but the main thing at the minute is we need to keep winning and picking up points and whether I'm in the starting line-up or getting off the bench, as long as the team is winning, I'm happy."
