Forde rubbishes return rumours

by JP Lonergan , 20 January 2012

Mattie Forde has poured cold water on rumours that he might return to the Wexford senior football panel.

Forde’s recent contact with county team trainer Mick Casey led to much speculation that he might be about to link up with Jason Ryan’s side once more, however Forde is adamant that the duo simply came together as the player wanted Casey to draw up a personalised training programmefor him.

"He (Casey) has done this for my own benefit, for my health going forward,” Forde said in Friday’s Irish Times.

“It's not with a view to going back playing with Wexford. He's done this as a complete favour.

“He told me to do it for a couple of months (and)see how I get on."
