Hodgson hails revitalised Fortune

Roy Hodgson has paid tribute to Marc-Antoine Fortune for his display against Stoke and says he definitely has a future at the club.

Fortune impressed in his first league start of the season as he helped the Baggies overcame Stoke 2-1 with a gutsy performance on Saturday.

The former Celtic man was sent out on loan to Doncaster earlier in the season and there had been talk he would be allowed to leave permanently if the right deal came along.

However, Hodgson says he has a future at the Hawthorns and is delighted things are now working out for him.

"I think he's always had a future here," Hodgson said on the club's website.

"We loaned him out to Doncaster, I took the chance over a month to let him go because he really did need to get some game time.

"It's worked out really well in his favour and in ours because he's come back stronger, mentally.

"The confidence he got playing at Doncaster is now shining through. But I've never lost faith in Marc-Antoine Fortune."
