No Lopez deal for Fulham

by Setanta Staff , 23 January 2012 No Lopez deal for Fulham

Fulham's chances of landing Maxi Lopez this month look to be scuppered with the Catania striker close to agreeing a move to AC Milan.

Reports in Italy say Milan have held talks with Catania about a deal for the striker and he should complete the move in the next 24 hours.

Lopez had been linked with the Cottagers as boss Martin Jol searches for a new striker in the transfer window and it was thought initially that the 27-year-old was keen to make the switch.

However, Milan are now at the front of the queue and are expected to seal the deal following talks.

The Argentinian international has impressed for Catania this season, scoring three goals in 14 appearances so far.
