Toon not giving up on Morrison deal

Newcastle reportedly remain keen on Manchester United starlet Ravel Morrison and could make an improved offer for him next week.

The Magpies have had an initial bid for the 18-year-old, who helped the Reds win the FA Youth Cup last season, turned down by United but Morrison's request for a new deal and a better financial package at Old Trafford has apparently angered boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Red Devils rate Morrison highly and do not want to sell but Ferguson has been left bemused by his inflated wage demands and may opt to get rid before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Toon boss Alan Pardew is a big fan of the teenager and, according to reports in Manchester, he is expected to lodge an improved offer of around £4million in an attmept to lure him to St James' Park.
