Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is reportedly on a two-man shortlist to replace Jose Mourinho as Real Madrid's next manager.
Wenger and Germany manager Joachim Low are said to head Real's list of contenders to replace Mourinho at the end of the season amid rumours that he has a deteriorating relationship with his players at the Bernabeu Stadium.
The former Chelsea and Inter Milan boss was booed during the 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao last weekend, prompting him to suggest on Tuesday that: "I don't know if I'll be at Real Madrid next season."
Wenger rejected the chance to join Real in 2009 but club officials now believe they have a better chance of enticing him to the Spanish capital, with the Frenchman coming under increasing pressure at the Emirates and Arsenal not guaranteed to qualify for the Champions League next season.
In contrast, Madrid currently lead La Liga by five points but their inability to defeat Barcelona has caused problems and could eventually spell the end for Mourinho.
