Cardiff captain Mark Hudson is anticipating an "amazing" day out at Wembley for all involved with the Welsh club at the Carling Cup final next month.

The Bluebirds booked their place in the last two with a penalty shootout victory over Crystal Palace on Tuesday and were joined by Liverpool on Wednesday after the Reds saw off Manchester City over two legs.

And Hudson, who missed the win against Palace with a calf strain, stressed how positive the atmosphere is amongst the Cardiff squad at present.

"This is going to be an amazing cup final for the club and a fantastic day for the players, staff and fans," he told the club's official website.

"It's a big achievement and we're all over the moon. I'm absolutely buzzing that we've got there.

"We would have been happy playing Liverpool or Manchester City, they're both big clubs.

"As it happens we've got Liverpool and we're going to give it our all. It's going to be a great game."
