Robin van Persie does not agree with those that feel Arsenal are heading for another season without a trophy but he has warned the club will need to stick together if they are to have a successful campaign.
The Gunners' 2-1 defeat by Manchester United has left them a massive 18 points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, but more worryingly for Arsene Wenger's side is the five points between them and fourth-place Chelsea.
Wenger admits failing to finish in the top four would prove disastrous for the club but Van Persie insists the season can still prove to be a success because they are still in both the FA Cup and Champions League.
The Dutchman was forced to deny rumours of a rift within the club following the loss to United when fans jeered Wenger for taking off Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in favour of Andrey Arshavin and he believes the team will have to work together if they are to enjoy a successful season.
"There are plenty of games still left, we have recovered from reverses like this before and we will win again, so anybody writing us off is making a mistake," he wrote on Facebook.
"This could still be a good season for us. We have the FA Cup to look forward to and the Champions League.
"We will all be giving 100 per cent to make sure we bring one of those trophies home, hopefully both of them.
"Let's all stick together and fight."
