Wales are ready says Bennett

Welsh hooker Huw Bennett claims that his team is primed and ready to face an Ireland team "looking for revenge" in next Sunday's Six Nations clash but the result from last October’s World Cup quarter final won't be on their minds.

Bennett, who will win his 50th cap if selected, said: "Ireland will obviously be looking for revenge, we got the upper hand in New Zealand, but we know you can't judge yourself on previous matches you have to look forward and we will be ready for them next week."

But Wales will be taking nothing for granted, Bennett says. He knows that Ireland will be keen to gain revenge for the World Cup defeat as well as last year’s 19-13 loss in Cardiff when a controversial Mike Phillips try was incorrectly allowed to stand and proved the difference between the sides.

"We had a lot of praise from the World Cup and we were on a big high when we got back, our challenge now is to maintain that momentum. Things came together for us, we got some good results and got further than people expected but now we need to keep that going," he said.
