Baggies complete Ridgewell coup

by Setanta Staff , 31 January 2012 football news

West Brom have completed the signing of versatile defender Liam Ridgewell from Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee.

Ridgewell, who can play at either centre-half or left-back, has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at the Hawthorns with the option of a further year in the club's favour.

The transfer fee has not been disclosed, but it is thought the Baggies have forked out around £1.75million for the 27-year-old.

Ridgewell is not eligible to play in West Brom's trip to Fulham on Wednesday but will be available for Swansea's visit on Saturday.
