Wozniacki drops coach

Caroline Wozniacki has split with coach Ricardo Sanchez after just two months following her quarter-final exit at the Australian Open.

Wozniacki hired the Spaniard in December in order to try and help her secure a first-ever Grand Slam success.

The Dane has only ever reached one Grand Slam final, the US Open in 2009, and also lost her world number one ranking after her last-eight defeat at the hands of Kim Clijsters in Melbourne.

The 21-year-old is now ranked as the world number four, behind Maria Sharapova, Petra Kvitova and Victoria Azarenka, who secured the title at the Australian Open last month.

Wozniacki will now go back to being coached solely by her father Piotr, who had been working in partnership with Sanchez.
