That is it from me. Thanks for stopping by and see you in the quarters for more of the same!
FULL TIME: CLONGOWES 43 - 10 BELVEDERE
3.51 And that is that. Clongowes are comprehensive winners on the day and well worth their 33 point win. This team will take some stopping. Although not tested to their limit today, it is difficult to pin point any weaknesses. Their pack is particularly impressive with the Byrne twins leading the charge.
3.49 TRY BELVEDERE! Every respect for Belvo for sticking with it and getting over the Clongowes line. It is a quality try with outside centre Cillian O'Sullivan latching onto a reverse pass before handing off the Clongowes cover to go over underneath the posts. Conversion is good.
CLONGOWES 43 - 10 BELVEDERE
3.46 Clongowes are awarded a try but it is then disallowed as it is discovered by the linesman that Clongowes had 16 men on the field at the time of a previous line out. That isn't legal, I don't think.
3.45 Clongowes captain Edward Byrne is taken off for Clongowes after a hugely impressive display. He looks about the same size as Mike Ross!
3.40 Ten minutes to go here and Belvo are enjoying some possession in Clongowwes territory. The line speed of the Clongowes defence is hugely impressive however and forcing many mistakes from Belvo.
3.39 Conor Mahony converts the try with an incredible kick from the touch line.
CLONGOWES 43 - 3 BELVEDERE
3.36 TRY CLONGOWES! From the resulting scrum, substitute Clongowes scrum half James Sullivan makes a break down the short side and passes inside to his openside Stephen Kealan to crash over.
3.35 The Byrne twins are phenomenal at the moment for Clongowes. Again the prop and hooker link to smash their way into Belvo 22. A period of sustained pressure after the initial break lead to a Clongowes 5 metre scrum.
3.33 YELLOW CARD BELVEDERE! Referee Eanna O'Dowd loses patience and shows Ivan Soroka the yellow card. You feel that is more for persistant infringements as much as anything. Clongowes miss the resulting attempt on goal.
3.31 Belvedere try and put something together but again the Clongowes work at the break down is immense and again, they force the penalty. On their feet and entitled to go for the ball.
3.30 You have to feel for Belvo today. They have come up against seriously good schools side at the top of their game. They have had few chances as they have hardly had the ball..
3.27 Penalty now to Clongowes as they keep it tight around the fringes on the Belvo 22, who again are forced into giving away a penalty. Kick is successful.
CLONGOWES 36 - 3 BELVEDERE
3.25 Conversion is missed by the way, which makes it:
CLONGOWES 33 - 3 BELVEDERE
3.22 TRY CLONGOWES! Just as you think Belvo are coming back into it, Clongowes go and run the length of the pitch in an outstanding score. Edward Byrne steals the ball, feeding his winger who makes a break, offloads to Bryan Byrne who hammers into Belvo 22 before offloading to scrumhalf Conor McQuaid to finish in style. Brilliant.
3.20 Brilliant by Belvo. Full back Darragh Kennedy charges out of the defence showing great pace and arrives at the Clongowes 22, only to be stopped in his tracks. Belvo ball in Clongowes territory.
3.19 The two Clongowes centres are MASSIVE by the way! What are they feeding these guys in Kildare??
3.17 Belvo have come out fighting here and are not affording Clongowes any decent ball by counter rucking impressively.
3.15 Belvo get us underway for the second half and they are really up against it here.
3.12 That was a seriously impressive half of rugby from Clongowes and it is now very clear why they are favourites once again for the cup. A mighty pack, with big ball carriers, is complimeted by some real talent out wide. Full back Niall Rhatigan seems to have magic in his feet.
3.09 Conor Mahony makes the kick and that is some half time scoreline.
HALF TIME: CLONGOWES 28 - 3 BELVEDERE
3.07 Clongowes finishes this half as they started it, on the attack deep in Belvo territory. A series of impressive phases results in another penalty as Belvo are caught offside. Chance to make it 28 here..
3.04 Almost half time here and as I catch my breath, it is difficult not be mightily impressed with this Clongowes team. Pace, power and precision so far.
3.03 Clongowes again are penalised from the kick off but this time Belvedere convert the attempt.
CLONGOWES 25 - 3 BELVEDERE.
3.01 Conversion is good.
CLONGOWES 25 - 0 BELVEDERE
3.00 TRY CLONGOWES! Excellent try from the Kildare outfit there and it was all about the half backs. Out half Nicholson sells a beautiful dummy and dances into the Bevo 22, before offloading to scrum half Conor McQuaid to dive over.
2.59 Great bit of play from Belvedere left wing Andy Larkin there who steps inside the Clongowes defence and breaks into their 22. Clongowes revover again impressively however and clear their lines.
2.56 Chance for Belvo to get on the board as Clongowes are penalised for obstruction from the kick off. Darragh Kennedy sends it to the left of the posts however.
CLONGOWES 18 - 0 BELVEDERE
2.56 The pressure tells and Clongowes get a penalty under the posts as Belvo again stray offside.
CLONGOWES 18 - 0 BELVEDERE
2.54 Big Clongowes pressure coming on here in the Belvo 22. The Dublin side manage to turn the ball over on their own line though.
2.52 This Clongowes pack is doing some damage in the scrum, which is not surprising really as their front row is massive. Still Clongowes 15 - 0 Belvedere. Line out to Belvo in their own half after spoiling a CWC backline move.
2.48 Again great work at the breakdown there by this hugely impressive Clongowes pack who again push Belvo off their own ball and launch the ball downfield.
2.46 Clongowes are very aggressive in their counter rucking here but a little too aggressive on that occasion they concede the penalty and Belvo kick deep into oppostion territory.
2.44 Belvedere finally get a bit of ball in Clongowes territory but the Clane side manage to stifle the ball at ruck time and clear their lines.
2.43 Conversion missed. CLONGOWES 15 - 0 BELVEDERE
2.42 TRY CLONGOWES! That is some interlinking play between the Clongowes backs and forwards. Ciaran O'Hanrahan finishes in the corner and this is looking ominous.
2.41 Mahony again makes the kick to make it CLONGOWES 10 - 0 BELVEDERE
2.39 TRY CLONGOWES! What a run from the Clongowes tight head Daniel O'Byrne who collects the ball on the Belvo 22 and steam rolls his way to the try line. Serious power there from the Clongowes number 3.
2.37 Belvo attempt to run the ball out of defence but Andy Larkin is met by a brick wall and Clongowes now have a line out in decent attacking position..
2.35 Conor Mahony converts for Clongowes.
CLONGOWES 3 - 0 BELVEDERE
2.34 From some decent Clongowes phases, Belvo stray offside and Clongwes have a penalty on the 22 in front of the posts..
2.32 Good start from Belvo, who spoil some Clongowes ruck ball but this enthusiasm leads to a Clongowes penalty on half way for hands in the ruck..
2.30 Clongowes get us underway at Donnybrook..
2.29 The bookies have Clongowes 26 points favourites here by the way..
2.28 Shout out to some past pupils following the blog, Marcus McDonnell and Rich Boland!
2.27 Clongowes have the whole front row from last year returning including the Byrne twins, who were by all accounts exceptional last year.
2.22 Clongowes are the current champions, looking for their third cup in a row, and favourites in the bookies for this year's competition. Belvo are more on an unknow quantity so this will be interesting..
2.20 After the dramatic and controversial conclusion to yesterday's game between Pres Bray and Newbridge, we now turn our attention to a battle of the Jesuit heavyweights, Clongowes and Belvedere. Kick off 2.30
