Preview: Liverpool v Tottenham (Mon)

by Setanta Staff , 04 February 2012

Kenny Dalglish has admitted that he still has not forgotten about Liverpool's 4-0 hammering by Tottenham earlier in the season.

The loss at White Hart Lane remains the heaviest the Reds have suffered since the Scot returned for his second spell in charge of the club, just over a year ago.

Liverpool will be looking for revenge when they welcome Tottenham to Anfield on Monday night, and Dalglish says that plenty of lessons were learned by their thrashing in north London in September.

"Nothing is completely forgotten about," he said.

"Everything that you have learned and experienced you have in the bank and if you have to use it you use it.

"We went there and lost a wonder goal to (Luka) Modric and Charlie Adam got sent off early on, so it was always going to be uphill from there.

"It was certainly not a pleasant trip but there are positives you can take away from anything.

"All the time it is educational and whatever you have learned you use to your benefit as best you can."

Dalglish will welcome back Luis Suarez, who has completed an eight-game suspension, into his squad for the visit of Harry Redknapp’s men to Merseyside, while captain Steven Gerrard also returns, having being rested for the Reds' trip to Wolves on Tuesday.

For Spurs, injury worries concerning Jermain Defoe, Emmanuel Adebayor and Rafael van der Vaart could pave the way for Louis Saha to make his debut, after arriving from Everton.

Aaron Lennon, due to a hamstring problem, is also a doubt, while William Gallas and Tom Huddlestone are both unavailable.

Liverpool go into Monday’s clash in sixth place in the Barclays Premier League, 11 points behind third-place Tottenham.
