Blackburn hit by double blow

Blackburn look set to be without Jason Lowe for a spell after he picked up a knock in the 7-1 mauling at Arsenal.

Rovers will already be without Gael Givet for three games after the defender was shown a straight red card following a reckless tackle on Robin van Persie at the Emirates Stadium.

Blackburn boss Steve Kean had no complaints with the sending off but admits his squad will be stretched over the next few weeks.

"The sending-off was not a tough decision for the referee to make because we all know the rules now. After that, it was a long afternoon," Kean revealed.

"Gael is cut up, he is a genuine guy and a very committed player, so he is very down at the moment. We picked up a injury to Jason Lowe, Givet will now be suspended for three matches so it was costly for us."
