McCarthy thanks owner

Mick McCarthy has again thanked owner Steve Morgan for the backing he has received as manager at Wolves.

Weekend reports suggested McCarthy's job was on the line ahead of the clash at QPR but the win and three points may have taken a little of the pressure off his shoulders.

Morgan was so disappointed with the display against Liverpool that he gave the players a roasting in the dressing room following the game, that was seen as possibly undermining the boss's authority.

McCarthy though has praised his boss, he said: "I will just say something about my owner.

"I have won three games in 22 and I am still here as the manager of Wolves.

"Let me tell you that is some level of support so let's not forget that. So when everybody is trying to write negative stuff about me and him, he has been as supportive as anybody else and I owe him a debt of gratitude for that."
