Padraic Joyce has ended speculation over his future by committing to another season with the Galway senior football panel.
The former Footballer of the Year has been troubled by numerous injuries in recent seasons and he took some time to consider whether or not to continue playing for the Tribesmen.
Having considered his options carefully he met with new manager Alan Mulholland last week to inform him of his intention to keep going for at least one more year.
"I am more than likely going to return at this stage," Joyce confirmed in the Irish Independent. "The injury cleared up before Christmas.
"It had been giving me trouble, but I've been doing plenty of rehab and training on my own."
The 34-year-old is set to undergo a rigorous fitness regime in the coming weeks with a view to being available for selection for the latter stages of the Allianz Football League.
Joyce has already won two All-Ireland medals with the Tribesmen and he will be hoping they can build on their four-point win over Derry in the opening round of the Allianz Football League last weekend.
