Blues fail with Neymar bid

by Setanta Staff , 08 February 2012 Chelsea

Andre Villas-Boas has ruled out a move for Neymar and says the Brazilian sensation will not be signing for Chelsea.

Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for the Santos star, who will move to Europe in the summer, but Villas-Boas has admitted defeat in his attempts to do a deal.

Real Madrid and Barcelona are also in the hunt and it looks as though one of the Spanish giants will land him when the transfer window re-opens in the close season.

"I think that the Neymar matter is closed and locked in a safe," Villas-Boas revealed. "He has decided his future and no-one knows where he will go. Unfortunately, he will not come to us."

Chelsea look like having more success with fellow Brazilian Willian, with the Shakhtar Donetsk ace expected to sign in the summer.
